What Is Belotero®?
Belotero® is a line of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are used to smooth lines, wrinkles, and folds throughout the face. Due to the low density of Belotero® formulas, these fillers are ideal for addressing fine lines that may not respond as well to other types of fillers.
Belotero® fillers are created using a proprietary Cohesive Polydensified Matrix process that allows them to address stubborn and etched-in lines and wrinkles without impacting natural movement or expressions. These fillers completely integrate into the skin, allowing for natural-looking and feeling results that can last for several months.
What Parts of the Body Is It Used For?
Belotero® fillers can be used to address:
- Nasolabial Folds (from the sides of the nose to the corner of the mouth)
- Vertical Lip Lines (lines above and below the lips)
- Corner Lines (downturned lines at the corner of the mouth)
- Smile Lines (lines around the lips and mouth)
- Chin Wrinkles
Formulated for difficult lines and folds, Belotero® fillers gently add volume and improve the appearance of the lower and midface.
Who Is a Candidate for Belotero®?
Ideal candidates for Belotero® fillers are adults who are unhappy with the way aging, genetics, and environmental factors have changed the quality of their skin. Because they are non-surgical, Belotero® fillers are safe and effective for most people, but we will need to review your medical history to make sure it is right for you. Belotero® fillers are not a good fit for people with allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins, other severe allergies, or a history of anaphylaxis.
The best way to determine if a Belotero® treatment is a good fit for your needs is through a one-on-one consultation and evaluation at our comfortable Tulsa location. Use the contact form on this page or give us a call to schedule your consultation and learn more.
How Belotero® Is Administered?
Belotero® fillers are administered via injection into carefully selected treatment areas. Depending on your specific needs, we may use a topical numbing solution to prepare the skin, but this is not always necessary.
As a non-surgical treatment, treatment with Belotero® fillers is fast and results are nearly instant. During your initial consultation, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the process to help ensure you are fully prepared for treatment.
How Can I Prepare for Belotero®?
Certain medications, herbs, and supplements that thin the blood will need to be avoided in the days leading up to your treatment. Please come to our office with skin cleaned and free of make-up and lotions. If there are additional instructions that pertain to your specific needs, we will provide those during your time in our care.
What Is Recovery Like?
Recovery from dermal fillers is incredibly short. Following treatment with a Belotero® filler, you may experience some redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site. These things should diminish on their own. You can help to improve your body’s healing response by avoiding strenuous activity for 24-hours after treatment, refraining from alcohol and blood-thinning medications for a few days, and staying out of the sun while your skin heals.
Most people see results right away, though it may take a few weeks for results to be optimized. During this time and after, take care of your skin using quality skincare products, and be sure to follow any directions provided by our office to help reduce your risks of complications.
Will I Need More Belotero® in the Future?
Belotero® fillers will produce results for six to 18 months in most cases. If you would like to maintain your results, you will need to come in for occasional touch-up treatments. Proper skin care and healthy living may help to extend results as well. This includes moisturizing, using sunscreen, eating a well-balanced diet, and getting plenty of exercise. We can discuss more ways to improve the appearance of your skin during your time in our care.
